Some things break, some things don't...

Hi hi everyone!

Considering we're nearing the end of our semester, we've been a bit overwhelmed with schoolwork, which means that we couldn't dedicate a lot of time to the project. Now that doesn't mean we didn't work on it, we've actually fixed and tweaked a lot of things on the backend. However that does mean we also broke things that used to work (pinjoints are non functional for the time being).

To start, we're currently in the process of adapting the code used to create planks in order to be able to use a general framework that allows better integration with different building elements. That's considering the fact that we already have a system to store information about building actions. Once we get that out of the way, we can implement one of our most important building elements in the game: cables!

We're still analyzing the best way to allow the player to interact with them, but to give you an idea, it's probably looking to be something in the ballpark of binding keys to "flex" these cables to generate tension. As of now is still just a shot in the dark and we hope it doesn't break the game physics too much.

Among other things you can see in this version is the addition of bases as a building element and functional-ish wheels. Still, pinjoints, broken :(.

Like we said earlier, our semester is coming to an end, that means the game has to have a fully playable build in the coming weeks. You'll be able to show off your building skills against your friends very soon!

Stay tuned for more!
